Clinical Course of Epilepsy in Children, Prognosis and Rehabilitation Issues

Abstract

Сharacteristic feature of epilepsy as a disease is a chronic course. To assess the course, it is necessary to analyze the dynamics of paroxysmal syndrome, the state of the patient's psyche, EEG changes, reactions to treatment, and the degree of social and pedagogical adaptation of the child. Must be considered and such an important factor as the age dependence of some forms of epilepsy Rehabilitation of patients with epilepsy is an actual direction but while it is in a condition of becoming. Authors describe main principles and stages of rehabilitation of children suffering epilepsy. The analysis of dynamics of paroxysmal syndrome, condition of mentality of the patient, EEG-changes, reaction to treatment, degree socially-pedagogical adaptation of the child are necessary for an estimation of course of epilepsy.
