Abstract

Topiramate is an anticonvulsant medication widely used for the treatment of epilepsy, migraine prophylaxis, and as an off-label treatment for various psychiatric disorders. Despite its efficacy, topiramate is associated with a range of side effects, some of which may disproportionately affect women. This review aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the effects of topiramate on the female body, focusing on its impact on reproductive health, weight, cognition, and mood. Understanding these effects is crucial for optimizing treatment regimens and minimizing adverse outcomes in women.
