Abstract

Precision medicine, driven by genomic data analysis, tailors medical care to individual patients based on their genetic makeup. This review outlines its progress and challenges. Advances in next-generation sequencing and multi-omics techniques have enabled deeper insights into diseases. Genomic data has guided targeted therapies in oncology, personalized drug treatments, and diagnosis of rare genetic disorders. However, challenges persist: managing vast datasets, integrating multi-omics and clinical data, interpreting findings, and addressing ethical and privacy concerns. Future trends involve AI-driven interpretation, single-cell dynamics exploration, and functional genomics for variant impact assessment. Overcoming these challenges will facilitate equitable access and unleash precision medicine's transformative potential in healthcare.
