Abstract

The purpose of the study is to study the frequency nasopharyngeal carriage of S. pneumoniae in patients with exacerbations of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Material and research methods. Data from the medical history of patients were analyzed, as well as the results of bacteriological studies of nasopharyngeal mucus of patients diagnosed with COPD (Samarkand Central City Hospital, 2019), Results: The results of bacteriological studies of sputum taken from patients with COPD showed that various pathogens were isolated during the study: S. pneumoniae was isolated in 27/28.7% of patients, in 5/5.3% of patients S. pneumoniae was identified in association with Staph. aureus, Candida spp. Conclusion: the results of the analysis confirm the role of S.pneumoniae in exacerbation of COPD in adults, and also allow us to classify patients with COPD as a risk group for various forms of pneumococcal diseases in adults and dictates the need for specific prevention in risk groups.
