TREATMENT OF EXUDATIVE OTITIS MEDIA IN WORLD PRACTICE

A review of the literature on the treatment of exudative otitis media was carried out. Otitis exudative media is one of the most actively studied diseases of the middle ear in recent decades. Interest in this pathology depends on the type of disease, the duration of the course, the complexity of treatment, resistance to standard therapy, and the characteristics of recurrence. The clinical symptoms of the disease are specific: the appearance of exudate in the tympanic cavity, signs of acute inflammation, the absence of changes in the tympanic membrane. In modern medicine, there are various options for the treatment of exudative otitis media, hearing aids are used as an alternative method of treating patients who have contraindications to surgical methods. In the CIS countries, medical and surgical methods of treatment are recommended for patients, but in most European countries and US protocols, expectant management is used.
