Abstract

Postmodernism is a broad and often contentious term used to describe a movement in literature, art, philosophy, and culture that emerged in the mid-20th century, particularly after World War II. As a reaction against the ideals of modernism, postmodernism seeks to challenge established norms and conventions, emphasizing subjective experience and the multiplicity of meanings.
