EVALUATION OF THE EFFICACY OF ALTERNATIVE THERAPIES FOR MENOPAUSAL SYMPTOMS IN POSTMENOPAUSAL WOMEN
Keywords:
Menopause, menopausal syndromeAbstract
Vasomotor symptoms are the most common manifestations of menopausal syndrome. Severe hot flashes and sweating affect sleep, mood, and reduce the quality of life. The "gold standard" for the treatment of these manifestations is menopausal hormone therapy (MHT). However, some women have contraindications to the use of MHT, and some refuse hormonal treatment for personal reasons. In such cases, alternative methods of treatment are necessary. This article presents a review of the literature on alternative therapy for vasomotor symptoms. The search was carried out in domestic and international databases in Russian and English. Pharmacological agents (of plant origin and synthetic) that are used to stop hot flashes, including preparations of the pineal gland hormone melatonin, are presented. At the same time, the article includes not only medicines registered in the territory of the Russian Federation, but also drugs that are used in other countries.Downloads
