Abstract

Ozena is a chronic atrophic inflammatory process that affects the mucous membrane, as well as cartilage and bone tissue of the nose. As a result, a viscous secretion with a fetal odor accumulates in the nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses and dries to form crusts. You can also find another name for this pathology - atrophic rhinitis.
