Abstract

Endometriosis is a chronic disease characterized by the benign growth of hormone-dependent tissue, morphologically similar to the endometrium, outside the uterine mucosa. Endometriosis is diagnosed in 10% of women of childbearing age; it ranks third in the structure of gynecological morbidity.
