Abstract

The results of WHO studies, observations of endocrinologists and dentists show that periodontitis is detected in almost 100% of cases in patients with diabetes for 10 years or more. With high sugar levels, periodontal inflammation develops quickly and aggressively, bone tissue atrophies, roots open, and periodontal abscesses (abscesses) appear. Gum treatment for diabetes should be started as early as possible. In patients with diabetes, the mobility of teeth is more pronounced, even with a slight depth of periodontal pockets, and the probability of tooth loss is 5 times higher than in people suffering from diabetes.
