EFFICIENCY OF VACUUM AND HIRUDOTHERAPY IN TREATMENT OF POST-TRAUMATIC NEUROSENSORIAL HEARING LOSS IN CHILDREN WITH CRANIOCEREBRAL INJURY
Abstract
The study included 26 children, of 17 boys and 9 girls, aged from 6 to 14 years with closed craniocerebral trauma. In the acute stage of sensorineural hearing loss for 2-3 weeks after craniocerebral trauma, the patients followed strict bed rest. They were prescribed anti-inflammatory therapy (broad-spectrum antibiotics), dehydration, detoxication and antihistamines, as well as drugs that increase energy resources in cells. To enhance the effect of prescribed drugs, improve arterial and venous circulation and mobilize their own internal recovery mechanisms, vacuum massage was used in combination with hirudotherapy. Timely complex treatment, including vacuum acupressure and hirudotherapy, prevents the development of secondary post-traumatic cochleovestibular disorders.
