Myocardial infarction (MI) is a major cause of death and disability globally, necessitating immediate medical intervention and effective post-acute care. Rehabilitation and continuous care are crucial for long-term recovery and reducing future cardiovascular events. This article examines the role of comprehensive rehabilitation in MI recovery.Despite evidence supporting rehabilitation, gaps exist in understanding the long-term benefits of rehabilitation components, patient adherence, and access disparities.A systematic review of recent literature was conducted using PubMed, Scopus, and Google Scholar, focusing on studies related to MI rehabilitation, including physical therapy, lifestyle modifications, and psychological support. Data were analyzed for effectiveness and challenges, with quality assessed using standard tools.Structured exercise programs, lifestyle changes, and psychological support significantly improve recovery outcomes. Exercise therapy showed a 25% reduction in mortality; lifestyle modifications reduced cardiovascular risk factors and improved lipid profiles; psychological support enhanced adherence and reduced anxiety and depression.Combining physical exercise, lifestyle adjustments, and psychological support in MI rehabilitation leads to improved cardiovascular health, reduced mortality, and lower recurrence rates. These components collectively enhance patient recovery and reduce the risk of future myocardial infarction.Integrating a multidimensional rehabilitation approach into standard practices is essential for optimizing patient care. Future research should explore long-term effects of rehabilitation, personalized plans, and strategies to improve access to care, especially for underserved populations.
