Abstract

Cosmetic procedures are intended to rejuvenate and beautify the skin, addressing concerns such as wrinkles, blemishes, scars, and sagging skin due to aging. The increasing awareness of beauty and skin care, coupled with disposable income, has led to the rapid expansion of more effective medical devices for skin improvement. Medical guidelines are necessary to help patients choose safe and effective skin beautification devices, as well as to establish standards for the development of such devices in different countries. Understanding the concepts and current state of the art in medical devices is the first step towards raising awareness and promoting innovation and adoption of these devices worldwide. This paper discusses the advancements in medical devices for skin beautification, their applications, currently available devices and instruments for skin treatment, as well as their specifications, therapeutic applications, limitations, and future developments.
