Abstract

In this study was conducted isolating and identification of Pseudomonas aeruginosa bacteria with clinical samples from various pathological conditions such as burns , urinary tract infection , otitis media , eye infection, catheter infection , wounds, , blood infection, , throat , surgical and vaginal infection. The present study includes 300 samples collected from patients who attend Al- Hakim General Hospital during the period extended From September 2023 to April 2024 with age groups between (1 -75) years. By using both traditional and molecular techniques (PCR), the identification of bacterial isolates was found; among males, 156 (52 %) had a higher frequency than among females, 144 (48 % ). The sample distribution is based on age group; for example, it looks high for the following age groups (16) and (12 ) for males and females, 16 to 30 years old, respectively. The results showed that 57/300 specimens of the total number of species are Pseudomonas aeruginosa by identified according to their morphological, and biochemical properties, followed with molecular identification by using four primers were the results showed 16S rRNA gene was detected in 57/57 (100%) P. aeruginosa isolates , the oprI gene was detected in 45/57 (78.9%) , the RpoS gene was detected in 22/57 (38.5%) and 41/57 samples show positive results with the oprL gene. Ten types of antibiotics were also tested to determine the resistance of the species to them.
