Abstract

Modern data on the etiology, immunopathogenesis and pathophysiology of exudative otitis media are presented. The factors influencing the inflammatory process and the links in the development of this middle ear pathology are considered. Issues of morphology, histology and immunomorphology of the mucous membrane of the middle ear, as well as features of immunopathological reactions are discussed. Modern methods of treating exudative otitis media are characterized and the importance of immune correction in the treatment of exudative otitis media is determined.
