Is it Important to Memorize by Heart Foreign Language-Speech Material

Abstract

The article discusses about a considerable number of teachers who widely used as one of the methods of teaching speech in a foreign language by memorizing a wide variety of foreign-language-speech materials. On the instructions of these teachers, students literally «memorize" passages of prose texts of a descriptive nature, dialogues (sometimes not even "by roles", but in general, for all participants of the conversation), numerous speech and language "samples" and "models", etc.
