Abstract

The Diploma in Engineering Technology program offers a comprehensive and industry-relevant curriculum that equips students with the knowledge, skills, and competencies needed for a successful career in the engineering technology field. It covers engineering fundamentals, technical skills development, specialized subjects, applied engineering projects, industry exposure, and professional development, providing a solid theoretical foundation and practical skills for graduates to pursue roles as engineering technologists or further their education in engineering. This program is developed through a systematic process that involves conducting a needs assessment, designing the curriculum framework, developing individual courses, and engaging stakeholders for consultation and validation. The curriculum balances theoretical knowledge and practical application, incorporating hands-on training and industry placements to enhance students' practical skills. Continuous monitoring and evaluation ensure the curriculum's effectiveness and responsiveness to industry needs. By adopting a collaborative approach involving industry professionals, academic experts, and regulatory bodies, the Diploma in Engineering Technology program aims to produce competent engineering technologists who are prepared to contribute to the workforce and meet the evolving demands of the engineering industry.
