Analysis of the scientific literature of recent years convincingly shows that the knee joint is much more often than other large joints of the extremities becomes the subject of clinical and scientific research. One of the main reasons for these studies is the huge number of patients with pathology of this anatomical formation. Thus, the number of requests for injuries and diseases of the knee joint to emergency departments of medical organizations in the United States of America exceeds 1.3 million cases per year. According to the data, the prevalence of osteoarthritis in the world reaches 10-12%. The data obtained in this study indicate higher rates According to the opinion of deforming osteoarthritis of the knee joint is observed in 51.6-54.5% of patients suffering from diseases of large joints. Among all degenerative-dystrophic diseases, the incidence of osteoarthritis of the knee joint is 33.3%. It is noted that the incidence of knee diseases increases with age: up to 30 years of age, 3% of the population suffer, by 40 years - 8%, by 50 - 16%, by 60 - 20%, and over 60 years - more than 30%.
