Abstract

This study aims to measure the level of environmental awareness, attitude, and practices for building ecological capacity-building programs among pre-service teachers at Colegio de San Gabriel Arcangel. Unlike traditional forms of education, environmental education is holistic. It is a lifelong learning process directed at creating responsible individuals who explore and identify environmental issues. Thirty-three (33) third-year pre-service teachers in Colegio De San Gabriel Arcangel, under the course of Bachelor of Secondary Education major in English, Bachelor of Elementary Education, and Bachelor of Physical Education, second semester, S.Y 2021-2022. The descriptive-correlation method is used by researchers to assess the level of awareness, attitude, and practices toward the environment. The study used the standardized four-point Likert scale questionnaire, devised to answer the specific problem of the study. Our findings revealed a strong relationship between 3rd-year pre-service teachers' environmental attitudes and their gender. The result of the test shows that pre-service teachers' levels of environmental practice and attitude had a negligible association relationship. Likewise, their level of environmental attitude and awareness also showed a negligible association with On the other hand, the level of environmental awareness and practices shows a high association relationship. The researcher concludes that the pre-service teachers of Colegio de San Gabriel Arcangel have a positive level of environmental awareness, attitude, and practices.
