Abstract

Precocious puberty (PP) in children is a condition in which a child begins puberty earlier than the normal age for this process. It is generally accepted in the medical community that puberty begins between the ages of 8 and 13 in girls and between the ages of 9 and 14 in boys, but in the case of PPD, it occurs earlier than these age limits. The symptoms of this condition are usually easy to notice, as it is accompanied by the early onset of menstruation or, depending on the sex of the child, erections, an increase in the size of the genitals and the appearance of hair in the genital area. In such a case, it is important to consult a doctor to seek professional advice, determine the cause of PPD and, if necessary, begin a course of treatment.
