Vitamin D Deficiency in Obese Children

Abstract

This review of the literature is devoted to the relevance of the problem of vitamin D deficiency in children, its role in the development of obesity, and other somatic pathologies. Information is provided on the prevalence of vitamin D deficiency in children and adolescents, risk factors, and the pathogenesis of the development of vitamin D deficiency in children with obesity. Also discussed are methods for correcting vitamin D deficiency in both obesity and other metabolic disorders.
