Abstract

The increase in infectious diseases of the respiratory system is an urgent problem in modern pediatrics. Most of them are caused by viruses that are tropic to the epithelium of the respiratory tract, affecting both the upper and lower respiratory tract. Among infectious and inflammatory diseases of the lower respiratory tract, the main part is bronchitis, the incidence of which has a clear dependence on the season, region, age of the child and the epidemiological situation. In recent years, the incidence of bronchitis in children is estimated at 75–300 cases per 1000 children, which is an order of magnitude higher than the incidence of pneumonia.
