Abstract

The Bachelor of Technology and Livelihood Education (BTLE) Major in Home Economics Program is an essential academic program that provides aspiring educators with thorough knowledge and practical skills to teach home economics effectively. This overview emphasizes the vital components of the curriculum and instructional assessment that have been rigorously created to satisfy the different demands of current Home Economics learners. The research begins by illuminating the underlying ideas that support the BTLE Major in Home Economics Program, highlighting its conformity with contemporary educational standards and societal expectations. The study used purposive sampling to develop research questions, ensuring relevant and representative respondents. The questionnaire assessed program content, methods, faculty competence, and facility adequacy. The curriculum framework integrates theoretical knowledge with practical experiences, preparing future educators for Home Economics, covering nutrition, textiles, family dynamics, interior design, and consumer economics. The instructional assessment within the program is characterized by a blend of formative and summative evaluation methods, allowing instructors to continuously gauge students' progress and adapt their teaching methodologies accordingly. Incorporating modern educational technologies facilitates enhanced learning experiences and promotes creative and critical thinking among students. Moreover, utilizing real-world scenarios and practical application of concepts fosters a deeper understanding of Home Economics principles and prepares students for their roles as future educators. BTLE Major in Home Economics Program promotes inclusivity and practical knowledge transmission through pedagogical methodologies, collaborative learning, and community engagement. Evaluating the program's effectiveness reveals positive student learning outcomes and overall program satisfaction. Continuous feedback and assessment mechanisms allow timely adjustments to enhance the program's quality and relevance. The study showed that the program meets CHED standards and industry needs but requires improved technology integration and practical experiences. Students satisfied, recommend hands-on experiences. Graduates of the program have demonstrated competence in teaching methodologies, curriculum development, and application of Home Economics principles, positioning them as valuable assets in the educational landscape. The study concluded that the Home Economics Bachelor of Technology and Livelihood Education program offers a solid curriculum that prepares students for industry standards. On the other hand, curriculum development and faculty development are essential to improve the quality of instruction and ensure that students receive a well-rounded education.
