Exploring the Evolution and Current Trends in Organizational Citizenship Behavior Research

In the dynamics of modern organizations, the "extra" behavior of organization members that exceeds formal job requirements often becomes a determinant of collective success. This study investigates the historical evolution and recent research trends in OCB through a comprehensive literature review. The analysis results indicate that OCB research has evolved from focusing on individual behavior to broader contributions, such as organizational and environmental sustainability issues. Cultural factors, which continue to evolve with changing social dynamics, also consistently maintain their relevance to OCB. Topics such as the role of various types of leadership and employee involvement in corporate social responsibility activities as predictors of OCB, as well as the integration of OCB with sustainability initiatives, have also strongly attracted the attention of researchers recently. This study reveals the dynamics of OCB in various contexts, providing a deeper understanding of how this concept continues to evolve in modern management studies.Downloads
